Pio — Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Pio is a bird sound identifier app. This policy explains how Pio handles your information. The short version: Pio does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

What we collect

Nothing. Pio does not collect personal information, does not require an account, and does not track you. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers.

Microphone & audio

To identify birds, Pio needs access to your device's microphone. Audio is processed only to recognize bird sounds. It is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to us for any other purpose. Microphone access is used solely while you are actively identifying a sound.

Data sharing

Because Pio collects no personal data, there is nothing to sell, share, or hand over to third parties.

Children's privacy

Pio does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date above.
